Fried Apples with Bacon and Onions.

Hello Fall!

Start with a cast iron pan that you bought for $20, or whatever pan you have, and fry up four slices of bacon or so, roughly chopped.

Fried Onions with Apples and Bacon 1

Fry until crisp and set aside, keeping the fat in the pan.

Add four coarsely chopped apples and one onion.

Fry, stirring occasionally, until soft and starting to crisp. A pinch of sage won’t hurt anything either…

Stir bacon back in and serve alongsideĀ this chicken, and roasted acorn squash, well buttered, and drizzled with maple syrup.
